[HT: Fark]

A woman in Charleston, WV, willed her body to science, but science didn’t want it.  Now, no family members have stepped up to claim her body and have it buried.  The county magistrate, Carol Fouty is concerned:

“When you die and you don’t have any relatives, they just kick you to the side,” Fouty said. “And now she’s frozen. That just makes me cringe. That’s not what she wanted at all. I’m just scared to death they’re going to cremate her and stick her in a cemetery where she doesn’t know anyone.”

I think what we have here is clearly the wrong perspective on life and the afterlife…

Not only is it the wrong perspective, but what did Fouty think “science” was going to do with body afterwards anyway? In my family, we have had several members of the family who had their body donated to science. My understanding is that once any research is done, the body is cremated and buried in an unmarked grave – they don’t give the body back or put up a headstone or anything.

    Yikes.

That quote sounds like something an 8 year old would say. Clearly the wrong perspective on the afterlife, and LIFE as well. That line of thinking has to spill over into other areas as well.

    Shaking my head.
